The social responsibility of engineers

im Rahmen eines internationalen, einwöchigen Workshops zusammen mit der EESTEC-Organisation der Informations- und Elektrotechnikstudiengänge und dem Forum InformatikerInnen für Frieden und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung e.V.

Vortrag mit anschließender Diskussion zum Thema "Soziale Verantwortung von Ingenieuren".
Der Vortrag wird aufgrund von internationalen Studierenden auf Englisch stattfinden.

Dr. Hans- Jörg Kreowski, Informatik- Professor von der Uni Bremen, ist als Referent eingeladen und wird einen Vortrag zum Thema  „The social responsibility of engineers - unmanned military vehicles for example“ halten:

The aim of engineering is to develop artefacts that serve certain purposes and - at the long run - to change the world in this way. Although the intention may be improvement, the outcome of engineering is not always and not automatically a progress of mankind. Therefore, engineers must not only do a good job, but must also keep the social impact of their work in mind. In the talk, I will discuss the social responsibility of engineers in view of the recent developments of unmanned military vehicles.
